How does transferring credits work?

For the Leadership Transitions curricula or any McDonald’s management classes completed after July 1, 2017, please contact Archways_to_Opportunity@us.mcd.com or (630)623-1637 to investigate receiving college credit. All current and former McDonald’s management and mid-management classes are accepted as credit at Colorado Technical University (one of our college alliances).

Prior to July 1, 2017, each McDonald’s management and mid-management training course has a recommended* number of college credits. These recommendations are made by the American Council on Education (ACE).

As an example, prior to July 1, 2017, the entire Department Manager curricula carried 9 ACE CREDIT recommendations.

A second example, both before and after July 1, 2017, at CTU the entire current Restaurant Management curriculum may transfer in as up to 20 credits.

*These are recommended because schools can decide to award more or less credits depending on their standards and the degree program you choose.

To find out how many credits your training courses might be worth:

  • Try the Virtual Advisor online app.
  • You can also see the full list of the number of credits our college alliance, Colorado Technical University (CTU) accepts for McDonald’s current management and mid-management curriculum and a list of ACE CREDIT recommendations prior to July 1, 2017 and by downloading the Training Course ACE CREDIT Recommendations PDF.

How do I transfer my credits?

In order to transfer credits from McDonald’s training courses taken prior to July 1, 2017, you will have to request your transcripts (which are official records of the classes you completed) and have them sent to the school(s) you choose. Please be aware that not all McDonald’s training credits may transfer to all schools. Be sure to check with your college Advisor or registrar to find out if your college currently accepts McDonald’s ACE CREDIT recommendations.

For the Leadership Transitions curricula or any McDonald’s management classes completed after July 1, 2017, please contact Archways_to_Opportunity@us.mcd.com or (630)623-1637 to investigate receiving college credit.

What should I know about requesting my ACE transcript?

Before you transfer your ACE CREDITS and order your ACE transcript, you should know:

  • There is a $20 fee for ordering your first transcript.
  • After that, it will cost $15 to send future transcript requests.
